Taipei, Taiwan, September 28, 2009 — Egis Technology Inc., a leading provider of fingerprint biometrics and data encryption solutions, announced today that its total fingerprint solution, the SS501 fingerprint sensor together with BioExcess™ has been integrated into Lenovo's latest K43 and E43 notebook series release.
"Lenovo is a leader in innovative products with high emphasis on security and convenience. We are proud to be their partner sharing the same vision for end-users of the PC market." said EgisTec. "Lenovo's faithful followers will not only be thrilled by the new experiences of our fingerprint solution but also will be at ease with the high performance of our sensor."
EgisTec's SS501 fingerprint sensor with a patented Fly-Estimation® technology performs better compared to other ordinary sensors. It is designed using a unique E-Field imaging technology patent with only a few MOS transistors in every sensor pixel, hence is able to differentiate between very small capacitance variations to create a 3D fingerprint image with perfect graying levels. The anti-spoofing ability can protect users from fraudsters who use fake fingerprints to access stolen computers. It is also a self-calibrating sensor which makes it both accurate and reliable, even under different skin surface conditions like dryness, sweatiness and oiliness.
Combining the use of biometric authentication with data security features, BioExcess is EgisTec's latest integrated software solution. Using their unique fingerprint as the master key, users can pass the BIOS authentication, conduct Windows log in or even logon to their favorite websites and applications. The patented SwipeOne® feature enables users to recall their stored IDs and Passwords in Password Bank and auto-launch their favorite websites and applications with just one swipe of the finger. For added convenience and speed, users can also conduct multiple launches with a pre-registered finger. To enhance privacy features, users can drag and drop their confidential data into Yo-Safe®, a totally hidden virtual disk which is only accessible via fingerprint or password authentication. In addition, the USB port access can also be barred using the Port Locker feature.
Currently, BioExcess supports Windows Vista and XP in English, Russian, Traditional and Simplified Chinese. It also supports the latest Windows 7 platform which will be released into the market on 22nd October 2009. For more information, visit http://www.egistec.com/en/products/bioexcess.aspx
