Installation/Uninstallation

This section will describe the installation and uninstallation procedures as well as steps to complete the Initial Wizard.

Installation and Initial Wizard

The instructions below will show you how to install BioExcess and complete the Initial Wizard for fingerprint enrollment and authentication.

Operating Procedures:

1.	Double click setup.exe. in the BioExcess file folder to start the installation program.

2.	Follow the onscreen instructions to proceed with installation. You will be prompted to restart your computer after installation is complete. You can choose to restart now or later.

3.	To start using the software, you must first enroll your fingerprint(s). Click on the BioExcess icon in the system tray and choose Initial Wizard. The Initial Wizard welcome screen will pop up. To continue, click Next.

Note: For first time users, you can also swipe any finger over the fingerprint sensor to launch the Initial Wizard.

4.	You will be prompted to enter your Windows user password. Enter your password and click Next.

Note: If you have not setup a Windows user password, you will be prompted to create a new password. The password you enter here will become your Windows password. Next time you log on to Windows, you may choose to swipe your fingerprint or manually enter this password.

You will now be prompted to enroll your fingerprint. Click on a box on top of the finger you would like to enroll. You must enroll at least one and at most 10 fingerprints. Please follow the onscreen instructions to enroll. For detailed instructions on fingerprint enrollment, please refer to the Finger Enroll Management section of this document.

6.	After you have enrolled your fingerprints, your Yo-Safe will be created automatically with a default configuration. Click Next to proceed. For more information about Yo-Safe or to change the settings, please refer to the Open/Close Yo-Safe and Yo-Safe Management section of this document.

7.	Click Finish to complete the Initial Wizard. Congratulations! BioExcess is now ready to be used.

Note: Initial Wizard is for first time users only.

Uninstallation

Please follow the uninstallation instructions below to remove BioExcess from your computer.

Operating Procedures:

1. To uninstall BioExcess, click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program > BioExcess.

2. After all the files have been deleted, you will be prompted to restart your computer to complete uninstallation. You can choose to restart now or later.

Note: The fingerprint device driver will not be removed when you uninstall BioExcess.
