Overview -
Advanced Technology
 

The SS801U is EgisTec’s latest USB, ultra low cost, slide fingerprint sensor designed for NB and PC peripheral applications. The sensor provides both excellent fingerprint authentication and full graphical navigation functions.

Based on EgisTec’s unique E-Field imaging technology patent, with only a few MOS transistors in every sensor pixel, the SS801U sensor can differentiate between very small capacitance variations to create a 3D fingerprint image with perfect gray levels.

Using EgisTec’s patented Fly-Estimation® technology, the SS801U sensor is able to deliver a complete fingerprint without any image reconstruction, allowing the system to benefit from lower consumption of memory, especially when integrating with Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA), and a faster matching process as a result of the efficient imaging.

Low Extra Cost
  To meet power management demands in different environments, the 5V/3.3V and 3.3V/1.8V voltage regulator and Contact-Sensor circuitry are built-in to the SS801U sensor. This enables greater flexibility in different I/O voltage environments even with the most compact bill of materials.
 

Security

  The anti-spoofing ability of the EgisTec sensor protects the user from attackers using fake fingers. A mechanism in the sensor, used for image encryption, prevents replay or simulation attacks on the sensor for malicious purposes.

User Friendly

  EgisTec’s image auto-calibration technology can self adjust the output signal of each sensor allowing for a recognizable image under different skin conditions, including sweaty, scarred, or dry.

Durability

  With a special hard coating on the sensor surface, the wear-resistant surface of the sensor is capable of more than 10 million finger swipes.
